Wednesday, March 10th: Day 11
I was actually the first person in my room packed! I know that probably means I left something, but I checked and I'm pretty sure I got it all. When we went down to the lobby Linda told us that the train was late, (again!) but once we got to the station we didn't have to wait that long. The train ride was fun, we played mafia and uno. (I was in a car with Lauren, Abigail, Nils, Clare, and Richard.) We had lunch once we got off the train, and then walked 2 miles to Fraterna Domus. I'm in a 4 bedroom with Navy, Clare, and Erin and it's a very cute, clean convent that I definitely like. The reason we're staying here is that it's on the tourist side of Rome. This means we're way closer to places like St. Peters, but it also means there are way more tourists. So far we haven't stayed in touristy areas, so it's kind of strange to see so many obvious tourists around. Anyway, today after unpacking we walked over to the pantheon. the Pantheon is a roman building that was transformed into a church, but the coolest thing about it is that all the light inside comes from a hole in the ceiling. it was a cool place architecture-wise and when we left it was starting to rain so we went to the grocery store. I got some awesome cereal called Meil Pops. They're made by Kellogs so hopefully I can get them in the US too. Dinner was okay, but after we had some awesome gelato. Don and Linda had been hyping it up the whole trip, it tasted awesome.
